Reiki Classes

The Japanese word Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is made up of two words.

Rei- the most common and accepted definition is universal. A deeper interpretation of the word Rei includes the terms spiritual, higher-self and all knowing.

Ki is life energy. In other cultures it is also known as chi, manna and Holy Spirit. All living things have Ki.

The most common definition of Reiki then is Universal Life Force, or spirit guided energy.

Giving and receiving Reiki gently but powerfully increases the flow of this life energy throughout the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels of our being, resulting in balance and stability. The Reiki practitioner is the conduit through which this energy flows to the recipient.

Reiki does not require a certain belief system or dogma. It is not a religion. There are no pre-requisites or intense study required. Anyone can learn. It is passed on from teacher to student through attunements. These attunements enable the student to channel the life force or energy then share it with others.

The Reiki course that is offered at Brandenburg Massage Therapy is structured to channel Reiki to both humans and animals. The class size is limited to four students.

Each level is an optional two day class. The first day will consist of the instruction in either Reiki level 1 or 2 (please see class schedule) and the attunements that are involved in each level. The second day is a discussion and the practical application of channeling Reiki to animals. Working with horses or dogs or both will be determined by the needs of the class participants.

If your intent is to work with animals, both days are beneficial. If your intent is to work on yourself and other people, you may opt for only the first day of training.

The cost for day one of each level is $125. If you wish to work with the animals, an additional $50 fee will be added for the second day. Students must have Reiki level 1 training prior to receiving level 2.

A non-refundable deposit of $75 is required prior to class. Should circumstances arise, that deposit can be transferred to another class.
